Mercer City Ranking 2017: Vienna the most livable city in the world for the eighth time in a row

For the eighth time in a row, Vienna was voted the world’s most livable city in 2017. The result shows that the Viennese way also convinces internationally.

In 2017 Vienna was again ranked as the city with the world’s highest quality of life by the consulting agency Mercer. This means that Vienna has continuously been at the forefront of this rankings since 2009. The study compares 231 international cities based on 39 criteria, including political, social, economic and environmental factors. With Zurich (rank 2) and Munich (rank 4), two other European cities are among the top five. The top group is completed by Auckland (rank 3) and Vancouver (rank 5).
