Smart Services for resource-optimised urban energy systems of city districts

In the course of the project Smart Services practically relevant, profit-oriented business models are development and tested on concrete applications in city development areas in Vienna, Graz and Salzburg.

In order for smart city concepts to find application in practice, there is a need for practically relevant, profit-oriented business models (Smart Services), which create both societal and ecological benefits at the same time. During the project SmartServices, these types of business models are developed, tested on concrete applications in city development areas in Vienna, Graz and Salzburg and then evaluated in regards to practicability in a comprehensive stakeholder process with the decision-makers and stakeholders (administration, development companies, developers, user groups, utilities).

The Energy Center as a project partner has taken on responsibilities related to the Vienna city development area Donaufeld, which encompass the organization and discussion with stakeholders as well as the management of the work package dealing with recommendations for politics and administration. The options’ study regarding Donaufeld, commissioned by the municipal department “Energy Planning” (MA20), will deliver well-founded input for this.
