The project goals are the transfer of cultural knowledge from DIY construction to an urbanized building practice, which meets all current normative and technical demands of the structure as well as the resilience approach.

With growing demand for affordable housing at the same time as an increasing desire for participation and codetermination in structural groups, there is a lack of thought-out measures of inclusion that support smart citizens in helping shape their city. To this end, suitable planning instruments are needed in order to reliably implement affordable, ecological, stable-value and shared construction styles in subsidized housing construction. The sphere of activity of planners is expanded to include communication and process configuration for DIY builders on building sites.

The project goals are the transfer of cultural knowledge from DIY construction to an urbanized building practice, which meets all current normative and technical demands of the structure as well as the resilience approach (= openness of use): The conception of a set of multi-story, construction styles suitable for DIY building, whose quantification (costs, eco-balance, practicability) is the core purpose of the investigation. Construction elements are analyzed in individual work steps and their installation processes defined. This is to speed up building partnership processes while at the same time expanding and sensitizing their scope for action.

Desired results and findings: A multi-criteria catalog for building initiatives and planners, which allows a need-based project design made up of an optimal mix of the categories of DIY building, sustainable building and room templates. This should make ecological building possible in the urban context.
