Smart City Vienna aims at the intelligent handling of efficient energy planning, so that a good quality of life for all people in the city can be ensured in the future. The Transform+ project develops strategies and solutions for this.

In the future Vienna is destined to be characterised by a sustainable energy system, smart mobility services and efficient, liveable urban infrastructure and housing. The smart city requires integrated energy and urban planning approaches to meet its energy and CO₂ targets. By developing a comprehensive smart city concept for Vienna, the research project Transform+ facilitates and intensifies research in Austria as initiated by the European TRANSFORM project.

Smart City Wien aims at the smart use of energy in urban planning to ensure a high quality of life for all citizen in the future. The project Transform+ develops the necessary strategies and solutions. Within the project this is supported by the creation of a transformation plan, the establishment of a Viennese “Smart City Working Group”, the communication between numerous players in so-called stakeholder forums, and the development of an (energy-specific) data set and quantitative analysis tool.
