Whether sports equipment, clothing, books, tableware, toys: The 48er-Tandler in the 5th district and, since 2022, also in the 22nd district enjoys great popularity, because here there is a contemporary opportunity for all Viennese to acquire high-quality, functional second-hand goods at reasonable prices. This gives momentum to the idea of waste avoidance and reuse of used items in Vienna.

Bargain hunters and vintage fans watch out

Every year, countless items that are still usable are handed in to the 48er-Tandlerbox at Vienna’s waste collection centres. In addition, unclaimed items from the Central Lost and Found Service and items that are no longer needed from various municipal departments of the City of Vienna are also handed in. The old goods are carefully presorted and checked to ensure that they are intact. Every day, new goods are delivered, including many unique items, with something for every taste and pocketbook. The 48er-Tandler is therefore not only good for the environment and of course good for the wallet, but also supports many charitable institutions, such as the TierQuarTier.

Repair instead of throwing away

In addition to the sale of second-hand goods, the 48er-Tandler regularly hosts events and activities for young and old. In the Repair Café, for example, defective small electrical appliances are repaired or unworn clothing finds a new home in a clothing swap. For regular information on events and activities, simply subscribe to the newsletter (only in german)!
