100 new apartments for wheel fans with community wellness area and wheel parking directly at the apartment entrances.

The former Nordbahnhof (northern station) is to become an entirely new urban quarter by the year 2025, offering approximately 10,000 apartments for 22,000 residents and as many jobs. Its special attraction is the “Bike City” which is fully equipped for the bike aficionado and has an ample wellness area to call its own.

The entire ground floor of “Bike City“ and “time2live“, the part of the building adjacent to Fanny-Minz-Straße, has been designated as a bike and wellness area and is not put to residential use. Residents of the approximately 99 apartments have come to enjoy a fitness room complete with sauna and Kneipp facility, solarium and relaxation room, along with a community room plus children’s play area and youth facilities.

The concept includes large bicycle rooms, free-of-charge outdoor workbenches with compressed-air and water connection, as well as a “car sharing” contact point. Spacious elevators suitable for bicycle transportation to the doorstep have also been provided, access to the apartments themselves is wide and barrier free with bicycle parking right at the front door. Underground parking for cars is, of course, an obligatory component of Bike City, but only 50% of the typically required car parking facilities were constructed, and the large sum of money saved was invested in “bicycle and wellness“, as well as sophisticated landscape design.
